A delightful and easy treat featuring crispy apple fries coated in panko and cinnamon, perfect for cozy fall gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Nonstick cooking spray
Instructions
- Prep apples: Start by peeling (if you choose) and cutting the apples into fry-like sticks. Pat them dry with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture.
- Set up coating stations: Bowl 1: Add the all-purpose flour. Bowl 2: Whisk the egg and milk together until well combined. Bowl 3: Mix the panko breadcrumbs, sugar, and cinnamon.
- Coat apples: Dredge each apple stick in the flour, dip them into the egg mixture, and coat them with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Air fry: Lightly spray the coated apple fries with nonstick spray. Place them in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Cook: Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking.
- Serve: Serve as soon as they come out with a drizzle of caramel dip, yogurt, or whipped cream.
