- 3/4 cup milk

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, and chives.
- Gradually add the milk, mixing gently until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently a few times.
- Pat the dough into a circle about 1-inch thick and cut into wedges or circles.
- Place the scones on the prepared baking sheet and brush the tops with beaten egg.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
