Description

Warm, buttery scones packed with smoky turkey bacon, sharp cheddar cheese, and fresh chives, perfect for breakfast or brunch.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled turkey bacon
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, and chives.
  5. Gradually add the milk, mixing gently until just combined.
  6. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently a few times.
  7. Pat the dough into a circle about 1-inch thick and cut into wedges or circles.
  8. Place the scones on the prepared baking sheet and brush the tops with beaten egg.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.
