Description
A comforting and flavor-packed dinner featuring Cajun shrimp and salmon served with creamy mashed potatoes and sautéed green beans.

- 4 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 salmon fillets (6 oz each), skin on or off
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter (for cooking seafood)
- 1 tablespoon butter (for sauce)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 4 medium russet potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter (for mashed potatoes)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons butter (for green beans)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (for green beans)
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Add the chopped potatoes to a pot of salted water and boil for 15-20 minutes until tender.
- Drain the potatoes and mash them, adding butter and milk until smooth.
- Season the mashed potatoes with salt and pepper and set aside to keep warm.
- Pat the shrimp and salmon dry and season generously with Cajun seasoning.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat; cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until pink, then set aside.
- Add butter to the same skillet, then cook the salmon fillets for 4-5 minutes per side until cooked through.
- Melt more butter in the skillet, sauté garlic until fragrant, then add heavy cream, chicken broth, Dijon, and spices.
- Simmer the sauce for 4-5 minutes until it thickens; adjust seasoning as needed.
- Return shrimp and salmon to the skillet, spoon sauce over seafood, and simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
- Boil salted water for green beans; cook for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp, then drain.
- Melt butter in a skillet, sauté garlic and red pepper flakes for green beans, then add the beans and toss.
- Plate mashed potatoes, top with salmon and shrimp, and add green beans on the side; serve immediately.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently before serving.
