Description

A healthier twist on classic chicken parmesan, this air fryer version is crispy, delicious, and perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Coat each chicken breast in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing down to ensure the crumbs adhere well to the chicken.
  4. Spray both sides of the chicken with olive oil spray to achieve that lovely golden crispiness.
  5. Place the chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 10 minutes.
  6. Flip the chicken over, then top each breast with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese. Cook for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the chicken is cooked through.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy your guilt-free crispy chicken parmesan!

Notes

For an extra crispy finish, try placing the chicken in the air fryer for a couple of minutes longer, but keep an eye on it to ensure it doesn’t dry out.
