Description

A cozy banana bread filled with melted chocolate chips, perfect for breakfast or as a snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 overripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and grease your loaf pan.
  2. Mash the overripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth and set aside.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar for about 2 to 3 minutes until fluffy.
  4. Add in the eggs, mashed banana, and vanilla extract into the creamed mixture and beat well until fully combined.
  5. Sift the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt into the wet mixture and gently fold until just combined.
  6. Fold in three-fourths of the chocolate chips, leaving a few for the top, and transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For added crunch, fold in a cup of chopped nuts. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
