A cozy banana bread filled with melted chocolate chips, perfect for breakfast or as a snack.

- 4 overripe bananas
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and grease your loaf pan.
- Mash the overripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth and set aside.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar for about 2 to 3 minutes until fluffy.
- Add in the eggs, mashed banana, and vanilla extract into the creamed mixture and beat well until fully combined.
- Sift the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt into the wet mixture and gently fold until just combined.
- Fold in three-fourths of the chocolate chips, leaving a few for the top, and transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For added crunch, fold in a cup of chopped nuts. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
