Ingredients

  • 1 cup apple sauce
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour or gluten free flour
  • 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped apples

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the rolled oats, whole wheat or gluten free flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Mix the apple sauce and honey (or maple syrup) in another bowl until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until everything is incorporated.
  5. Fold in the chopped apples gently, letting their sweetness shine through.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, creating little mounds.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
