Description

Delicious homemade mozzarella sticks that are crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, perfect as an appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Cut the mozzarella cheese into sticks, aiming for a perfect size to hold in your hand.
  2. Set up a breading station with three bowls: flour in the first, beaten eggs in the second, and a mix of breadcrumbs with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in the third.
  3. Dunk each cheese stick in flour, ensuring it’s properly coated, then dip it into the eggs, and finally coat it generously with the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Once all the sticks are breaded, place them on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large pan to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry the mozzarella sticks until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.
  7. Drain the fried sticks on paper towels and serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

You can make these ahead of time and freeze them. Adjust frying time for frozen sticks.
