Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sausage (Italian or smoked)
  • 4 cups green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced (mixed colors)
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice the sausage into bite-sized pieces and set them aside.
  2. Chop the cabbage into thin strips and dice the bell peppers and onion.
  3. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the sesame oil and let it warm until shimmering.
  4. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  5. Toss in the onions and garlic, sautéing for 2 minutes until fragrant and golden.
  6. Incorporate the cabbage and mixed bell peppers, stir-frying until tender yet crisp, about 5-7 minutes.
  7. Pour in the low-sodium soy sauce and sprinkle red pepper flakes (if using), mixing well to combine and cooking for an additional 5 minutes.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed before serving.
