- 1 ½ pounds ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, half of the chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
- Shape the mixture into oval patties, about ½ inch thick.
- Brown the patties on both sides in a skillet over medium heat, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Transfer the browned patties to the slow cooker and sprinkle the remaining onions and sliced mushrooms over them.
- Whisk beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and cream of mushroom soup together in a bowl, then pour over the patties.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the meat is tender.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
For a zesty kick, add a jar of salsa. You can also freeze the cooked dish for up to three months.
