Description

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, half of the chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  2. Shape the mixture into oval patties, about ½ inch thick.
  3. Brown the patties on both sides in a skillet over medium heat, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  4. Transfer the browned patties to the slow cooker and sprinkle the remaining onions and sliced mushrooms over them.
  5. Whisk beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and cream of mushroom soup together in a bowl, then pour over the patties.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the meat is tender.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For a zesty kick, add a jar of salsa. You can also freeze the cooked dish for up to three months.
