Description
Enjoy crispy tofu bites drizzled with a creamy, zesty bang bang sauce, perfect for a cozy dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 14 oz firm tofu
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Start by pressing the tofu to remove excess moisture. Wrap it in a clean towel and place a heavy object on top for about 15 minutes. Once drained, cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.
- In a bowl, mix the cornstarch with salt and pepper to create a wonderful coating for the tofu.
- Toss the tofu cubes in the cornstarch mixture until they are well-coated.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Drizzle the vegetable oil over the coated tofu and gently toss to ensure every piece is evenly coated.
- Place the tofu in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway for even crisping.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha (if using) to form the bang bang sauce.
- Once the tofu is crispy and golden brown, toss it in the sauce mixture until each piece is generously coated.
- Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions for a pop of color and freshness.
Notes
Customize the spice level by adjusting the amount of sriracha in the sauce. Leftovers can be stored for up to 2 days.
