Description

Ingredients

  • 34 pounds beef shoulder (or chuck roast)
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Buns or tortillas for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the meat: Trim any excess fat from the beef.
  2. Create the sauce: In a separate bowl, mix together the BBQ sauce, beef broth, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Combine in slow cooker: Place the beef roast in your slow cooker and pour the prepared sauce mixture over the meat.
  4. Cook low and slow: Cover your slow cooker and set it on low for approximately 480 minutes (8 hours).
  5. Shred the meat: Remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
  6. Mix it back: Return the shredded beef to the slow cooker and mix it well with the remaining sauce.
  7. Serve & enjoy: Spoon the pulled pork onto buns or tortillas.
