- 3–4 pounds beef shoulder (or chuck roast)
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Buns or tortillas for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the meat: Trim any excess fat from the beef.
- Create the sauce: In a separate bowl, mix together the BBQ sauce, beef broth, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Combine in slow cooker: Place the beef roast in your slow cooker and pour the prepared sauce mixture over the meat.
- Cook low and slow: Cover your slow cooker and set it on low for approximately 480 minutes (8 hours).
- Shred the meat: Remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
- Mix it back: Return the shredded beef to the slow cooker and mix it well with the remaining sauce.
- Serve & enjoy: Spoon the pulled pork onto buns or tortillas.
