Description

A creamy, cozy treat that combines flaky pastry with a sweet cream cheese filling, perfect for breakfast or brunch.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package puff pastry
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into squares.
  3. Mix together softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
  4. Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  5. Fold the corners of the square over the filling to create a pocket and press the edges to seal.
  6. Brush the tops of your pastries with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastries are golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

Make-ahead by preparing the filling a day in advance. Chill the pastries for 15 minutes before baking for best results.
