- 4–6 medium-sized potatoes
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite blend)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup butter
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel and slice the potatoes into thin, even rounds.
- In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter, then stir in the heavy cream, cheese, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until combined.
- Layer half of the potato slices snugly in a baking dish, then pour half of the cheese sauce over them.
- Repeat with the remaining potatoes and top with the rest of the cheese sauce.
- Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
