Ingredients

Scale
  • 46 medium-sized potatoes
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite blend)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup butter
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and slice the potatoes into thin, even rounds.
  3. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter, then stir in the heavy cream, cheese, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until combined.
  4. Layer half of the potato slices snugly in a baking dish, then pour half of the cheese sauce over them.
  5. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and top with the rest of the cheese sauce.
  6. Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.

Notes

For a variation, try adding spinach, artichoke hearts, or different types of cheese for a unique flavor.
