Description

A hearty and creamy classic bolognese sauce that warms the heart and delights the palate, perfect for family dinners and meal prep.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil and parmesan cheese for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add onion, carrots, and celery, and sauté until softened, about 5–7 minutes.
  3. Stir in garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the ground beef and pork, cooking until browned and fully cooked, about 10 minutes.
  5. Pour in the vegetable broth, cooking until mostly evaporated.
  6. Add crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Stir in milk and let it continue to simmer for an additional 30 minutes.
  8. Serve with your favorite pasta, garnished with fresh basil and parmesan cheese.

Notes

This sauce can be made a day in advance for deeper flavors. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
