Description
A delightful blend of zesty jalapeños and tangy cranberries, this Cowboy Candy is perfect for holiday gatherings or as a unique condiment for family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup jalapeños, sliced
- 1 cup cranberries, fresh or frozen
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Combine sugar, water, and apple cider vinegar in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture comes to a boil.
- Add the sliced jalapeños, cranberries, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and cayenne pepper.
- Reduce heat and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- Transfer to sterilized jars and seal.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to one month or process in a water bath for longer shelf life.
Notes
For a milder flavor, remove the seeds from the jalapeños. This Cowboy Candy tastes even better after a couple of days in the fridge.
