Description

A delightful blend of zesty jalapeños and tangy cranberries, this Cowboy Candy is perfect for holiday gatherings or as a unique condiment for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup jalapeños, sliced
  • 1 cup cranberries, fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, water, and apple cider vinegar in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture comes to a boil.
  2. Add the sliced jalapeños, cranberries, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens slightly.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool.
  5. Transfer to sterilized jars and seal.
  6. Store in the refrigerator for up to one month or process in a water bath for longer shelf life.

Notes

For a milder flavor, remove the seeds from the jalapeños. This Cowboy Candy tastes even better after a couple of days in the fridge.
