A heartwarming dish featuring tender chicken breasts enveloped in a rich, velvety sauce, served over fluffy rice. Perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 chicken breasts
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice for serving
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat a little oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Season the chicken breasts with paprika, salt, and pepper. Add them to the pot, browning on both sides for about 4-5 minutes.
- Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer. Cover and cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Remove the chicken from the pot and set aside to rest.
- Let the sauce simmer uncovered for a few more minutes to thicken, stirring occasionally.
- Serve the chicken over cooked rice, drizzling the creamy sauce over the top. Garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes
You can prepare the chicken and sauce in advance and reheat gently. Substitute half of the heavy cream with Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
