- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk, warmed
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1/4 cup strawberry jam
- 1 egg, for egg wash
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the flour, granulated sugar, instant yeast, and salt until well combined.
- Combine the warmed milk, melted butter, and one egg in another bowl, stirring gently.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until fully combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until it becomes smooth, then allow it to rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes.
- Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface to create a rectangle that is approximately 1/4-inch thick.
- Mix the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar in a separate bowl until smooth and fluffy. Spread this creamy mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough.
- Combine the chopped strawberries and strawberry jam in a small bowl and spread this mixture over the cream cheese layer.
- Carefully roll the dough tightly from the long end, creating a log shape. Cut the log into even rolls about 1 inch thick.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving some space between each one.
- Cover the rolls with a kitchen towel and let rise for another 30 minutes, while you preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brush the tops with the beaten egg and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
- Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving.
