A delightful French dessert featuring a tender custard filled with juicy strawberries, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Butter for greasing the baking dish
  • Powdered sugar for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lightly butter a medium-sized baking dish (about 8×8 inches).
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  4. Gently whisk in the flour and salt until just combined, creating a silky batter.
  5. Fold in the quartered strawberries, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it gently with a spatula.
  7. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
