- 4 medium potatoes, sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until softened.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Layer the sliced potatoes evenly at the bottom of a greased baking dish.
- Top the potatoes with the beef mixture, spreading it evenly.
- Spread the creamy sour cream over the top, followed by shredded cheese.
- Cover the dish with foil, and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes, until potatoes are tender and cheese is golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
