Description

A delightful coffee cake with rich maple sweetness and crunchy walnuts, perfect for cozy mornings or afternoon treats.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon until well combined.
  3. Beat together the softened butter, sour cream, eggs, and vanilla extract until creamy.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing gently until just blended.
  5. Fold in the chopped walnuts and maple syrup.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  7. Mix together additional flour, brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon for the streusel topping. Sprinkle over the batter.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or refrigerate for up to a week. Can be made a day in advance.
