Description

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup crumb topping (made with additional flour, sugar, and butter)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan with butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl until combined — this will be your dry mixture.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, making sure each is fully incorporated. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  7. Combine the ingredients for the crumb topping in another bowl until crumbly, then sprinkle over the batter.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool for a few minutes before slicing and serve warm.
