Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 4 large egg yolks

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ice cream maker by freezing the bowl according to the manufacturer’s instructions ahead of time.
  2. Blend the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, and sea salt until the sugar has dissolved.
  3. Stir in the pure vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk the egg yolks in a separate bowl. Combine the cream mixture in a saucepan over low heat. Stir continuously while adding the yolks. Heat until slightly thickened, avoiding boiling.
  5. Pour the custard into a bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  6. Churn the cooled mixture in your ice cream maker for 20-25 minutes.
  7. Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.
